Survey The who, what, and where of being a Snowbird Findings from our 2025 reader survey If you’re reading these words, chances are pretty good that you’re part of the snowbird community: a collection of more than one million Canadians who travel to warmer parts of the world in the winter. But what kind of community are we, exactly? Other than the desire to leave the cold and wet behind us, what are our interests? Where do we come from – and where do we visit in the winter months? And what do we do when we’re there? Every couple of years, we mail out a confidential survey to our community of more than 110,000 members to find the answers to these and other questions. And we collect those answers to put together a kind of snapshot of who we snowbirds actually are, what we do and how we feel about the trends and events that affect us – both at home and abroad – at this moment in time. Here are some of the insights which we uncovered from our 2025 survey: By James Dolan 32 | www.snowbirds.org
