Food & Drink 1 head of purple cabbage 8 Italian sugar-free sausages 1 package of low-fat cream cheese (1 cup) 1 stick butter (1 cup) or avocado butter 1 tablespoon onion powder 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 cup whipping cream or Greek yogurt 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1 cup grated parmesan or Asiago Cabbage Pasta Alfredo With Italian Sausage Serves 4 to 6 Preheat oven to 400F. Slice cabbage thinly. Set aside. Slice sausages into bite-sized pieces. Fry sausage until cooked. Remove from pan. Set aside. In a baking dish, combine sliced cabbage, sausage pieces, cream cheese and butter. Add garlic powder and onion powder. Add the lid to the dish. Bake for half an hour. Remove from oven and remove lid. Add cream, Italian seasoning and parmesan. Mix well. Bake for another half an hour. Remove from heat. Mix well. Serve hot, garnished with extra parmesan and fresh chives. Wine Suggestion: With all of the big creamy flavours in this dish, choose a big, fatty white wine with buttery, creamy flavours to match. You’ll want a warm-climate Chardonnay with barrel fermentation and aging. Lots of alcohol. The higher the alcohol, the greater the creamy, buttery flavour in the wine.
