RV Lifestyle Bardstown, Kentucky The second-oldest city in Kentucky, Bardstown has other claims to fame: “Bourbon Capital of theWorld,” My Old Kentucky Home of Stephen Foster fame, and Old Talbott Tavern. Bardstown is a popular starting point for the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. But booze aside, the town has plenty of allure with its picturesque and quaint courthouse square. Breaux Bridge, Louisiana Nestled along the banks of the slow-rolling Bayou Teche, Breaux Bridge – the “Crawfish Capital of the World” – is an historic town with world-class restaurants and a thriving Cajun music and folk art scene. Breaux Bridge is a great place to stop off for a meal and an afternoon of antiquing, and an even better place to camp at a local RV park and stay awhile. The annual Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival is the town’s largest attraction. Taking place each year on the first weekend of May (May 5-7, in 2018), this down-home festival is an ode to the humble mudbug, one of the area’s major exports, and a favourite for Cajun food lovers. Tubac, Arizona Located on the Santa Cruz River, Tubac was originally the first Spanish colonial garrison in Arizona. Following the Spanish, Tubac was populated by miners, farmers and ranchers in the 1800s, but is currently known as a converted artists’ colony. Check out the art galleries and specialty shops and explore the Spanish garrison at Tubac Presidio State Historic Park. CSANews | SPRING 2018 | 27
