Located in the wetlands of Mobile Bay near Spanish Fort, Meaher State Park is a scenic, 537-hectare park offering facilities for both camping and day-use. TheMobile Delta consists of approximately 8,224 hectares of water andMeaher State Park is the perfect access point to this massive natural wonder. Formed by the confluence of the Alabama and Tombigbee rivers, the Mobile Delta is a complex network of tidally influenced rivers, creeks, bays, lakes, wetlands and bayous. Since the Delta empties intoMobile Bay, it is a productive estuary with numerous species of fresh and saltwater fish, which makes Meaher State Park a fisherman’s dream. A 91-metre fishing pier ‒ with a 61-metre “T” and boat ramp ‒ makes Meaher State Park an excellent location for fishing. An Alabama freshwater fishing licence is required. The boat ramp is located on the Blakeley River at the east end of the park. A self-guided walk along two nature trails includes a boardwalk with an up-close view of the beautiful Mobile Delta.
